Can large language models create new Croatian words?

As part of the celebration of the Month of the Croatian Language on March 13, a lecture on large language models and artificial intelligence was held at the Dubrovnik Libraries. The lecture was given by Professor Marko Tadić, who presented the first Croatian monolingual language model HR-GPT Beta, trained on almost eight billion Croatian words and available in the HR-CLARIN language data repository.

CLARIN-APPLIED to CROATINA webinar on discourse analysis

In a series of webinars intended for researchers in the humanities, the first CLARIN-APPLIED to CROATINA webinar on discourse analysis was held on 4 March 2026. The webinar was held by Dolores Lemmenmeier-Batinić from ZHAW (Zurich University of Applied Sciences). She presented the work of K-center CLARIN-APPLIED and demonstrated the possibilities of discourse analysis to potential users.

CLLTR 2025: CLARIN services for translators

At the 3rd International Conference on Corpora in Language Learning, Translation and Research the possibilities that CLARIN offers translators in their work were presented. The presentation given by Daša Farkaš on 28 September in Zadar covered translation technologies within CLARIN, as well as how translators can contribute to the infrastructure and how they can store their own resources in the repositories.
